MINNESOTA CENTER FOR PHOTOGRAPHY (MCP) ANNOUNCES THE SELECTION OF FOUR ARTISTS FOR THE MINNESOTA PROJECTS GALLERY (MPG): ANDREA GORDON MURRILL, ABINADI MEZA, KATE ANDERSON, AND GENE PITTMAN
MCP is pleased to announce the selection of four artists who will exhibit in the Minnesota Projects Gallery in 2008-2009. A committee of local artists, curators, writers, and educators selected the artists. The Minnesota Projects Gallery is a space dedicated to experimental and exploratory artist-driven photographic installations created by Minnesota artists.

With special funding from the Jerome Foundation, MPG now offers significant assistance with installation and professional enhancement. In addition to an exhibition honorarium of $450, each artist receives up to $3000 for technical support and material reimbursement, plus an additional $2000 for enrichment.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS + THEIR PROJECTS

Gene Pittman is a photographer and painter interested in investigating the transitory nature of things. He has exhibited nationally and in 2001 received the MCAD/Jerome Foundation Fellowship. Pittman received an MFA in Visual Studies from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. He currently works as a photographer for the Walker Art Center.
